Have you ever paid for or had your order paid for at a café or drive-through?

When was the last time you inspired and encouraged your peers or colleagues?

How many times a week do you give or receive a compliment?

Do you donate to or volunteer at local charities?

Paying it forward is a global initiative that seeks to take an act of kindness and pass it on, creating a ripple effect of kindness and positivity across the world. Building a sense of positivity and love within the community is a way to inspire optimism and encourage warmth worldwide.

Dedicated to sharing positivity and celebrated each April, Pay It Forward Day ‘exists to make a difference’ and believes that small acts of kindness ‘can literally change the world for the better’ (2024).

This year, Pay It Forward Day lands on Sunday, April 28th, and the team behind the initiative aims to inspire over 10 million acts of kindness around the world. In both the lead-up to and on the day, we encourage all students and staff to pay it forward by sharing kindness and positivity.

Here are a few ways you can pay it forward this April 28th

  • Pay for someone’s cup of coffee/takeaway/petrol,
  • Help someone out in need,
  • Promote Pay It Forward Day on your socials,
  • Give blood to the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood,
  • Donate or volunteer at a charity,
  • Place inspirational sticky notes around your home/office/classroom,
  • Compliment the first three people you speak to,
  • Send a positive text to five people.
